I just recently watched The Sound Of Music on Disney Plus, and I don't think I have ever watched it all the way through before. This time I did, and it was a treat. If the words had been on the screen I might have sung along.

The Pines Theater in Lufkin will show the sing-a-long edition of the Sound Of Music on Saturday, April 20th, 2022. Do you know anyone that was around to see the movie when it might have played at the Pines in 1965?

Rodgers & Hammerstein's cinematic treasure "The Sound Of Music” was originally put out as a limited release to theaters. That quickly changed and it became a run-away hit. In the end it won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

Julie Andrews plays Maria who leaves the convent to be a governess to Captain von Trapp’s (played by Christopher Plumber) seven children. The singing commences immediately with the first scene and continues throughout the movie punctuating the highs and the lows.
