Heritage Festival In New Cotton Square Downtown Lufkin
If you have not been to downtown Lufkin to see all of the additions yet, there is an event coming up that will give you a chance. Lufkin Creative invites you to the Heritage Festival on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10 AM - 2 PM.
This year's activities will be in and around the new Cotton Square in Downtown Lufkin. Food and music will take center stage to bring people of all backgrounds together.
The day’s entertainment schedule includes:
9:00 AM — Yoga Class - Jacqui Johnson - Shepherd Street Yoga
10:20 AM — Enrique Mungla
11 AM— Alabama Coushatta Tribe of Texas
11:20 AM — Local Choir
11:35 AM — Devin Hines
12 PM — Groupo Ketzaly - Mexican Folkoric Dance Ensemble
1 PM — Alabama Coushatta Tribe of Texas
1:20 PM – Casey Muze
Local musicians Caleb Robinson and Brandon Morgan will be on stage between sets.
Kids Coloring Contest To Celebrate Our Area Heritage
Coloring sheets are being sent to local schools for your children to use to enter the coloring contest. Once completed, return them to the Lufkin Parks and Recreation Department at 516 Montrose or Visit Lufkin inside the Pitser Garrison Convention Center at 602 North Second Street.
You can also download a coloring sheet from the Lufkin Creative website at lufkincreative.com. They can also be turned in on the day of the event at the Lufkin Parks and Recreation Tent.

Winners will be announced at 1 PM with one winner per age group.

“We invite you to be a part of a community, collaborative hands-on art-puzzle project,” said Jackie Zimmerman, Lufkin Creative executive director. “Color a puzzle piece and add it to our big puzzle in Cotton Square. We are bringing the community together through art, creativity, fun, and food."
