When I first heard of a posing room at a gym, I had no idea what they were for. With every last person in the gym trying to take photos and film their workouts, I thought it could be the perfect solution.

You can separate the people who just want to work out from the bloggers and social media influencers. I found out quickly that isn't how they work.

The first thing I learned is that there is no gym equipment in the posing room, it is just for posing. If you are looking to film a workout, this isn't the space.

This is a space where you can come after a good workout and take photos. They have better lighting and mirrors for selfies.

Some have mirrors on the walls angled and suspended from the ceiling so you can see yourself, but the camera doesn't take photos of the mirror. Some have an entire wall of mirrors, and go the extra mile with the lighting.

At Absolute Recomp in Las Colinas outside of Dallas, they have what they claim is one of the best posing rooms in Texas. They designed it so multiple people can use it all at once.

Separate zones of lighting help the bodybuilders highlight different areas of the room. The lights can also be dimmed.
