<p><strong>12:45 p.m. (EST):</strong> FBI spokesman Paul Bresson <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/04/17/obama-letter-suspicious-substance/2090465/" target="_blank">has confirmed</a> that the substance found in the letter to the president was ricin.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/04/17/us-usa-obama-letter-idUSBRE93G0OU20130417" target="_blank">Secret Service says</a> that a letter containing a suspicious substance and addressed to President Obama <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2013/04/17/politics/tainted-letter-intercepted/" target="_blank">was received on Tuesday</a> at a White House mail facility. This comes just after a letter sent to Senator Roger Wicker (R.-Miss.) was found to contain the poison ricin.</p>

He did in in 1910 on Opening Day at Griffith Stadium before a Washington Senators game. Since Taft, every president has followed suit taking the mound at some point during his presidency.</p>
<p>Franklin Roosevelt holds the record for the most times a president got the honor, hurling nine different times (eight opening days and an All-Star Game). Here’s a look back at some of the more memorable performances of presidents over the past century:</p>
