We are getting ready for night one of Free Movies In The Park (Wednesday Oct 7th) at Ellen Trout Park. We gave everyone a few helpful hints and basic rules of the night last year, so I'm just posting these tips again to make sure everyone has a good time.

Ellen Trout Zoo already had a Baby Lion last year, now some of the smaller cats might be moving into the spotlight. According to Zoo Director Gordon Henley,  Kabah, a 142 pound, male Jaguar arrived yesterday afternoon at the Ellen Trout Zoo.

The new lion cub at the Ellen Trout Zoo has a name! It’s been a summer of births at the zoo, with several intriguing new babies born. The lion cub has been named Sango. The city says the name has meaning – Sango is the Yoruba god of lightning and thunder. We’ve got a chance to catch a sneak peak at the little lion cub this weekend, but we’ll have to be on our toes.

Lufkin's Ellen Trout Park and Zoo are getting some much needed improvements, thanks to its partnership with the Lufkin Host Lions Club and the City of Lufkin.

The animal population at Lufkin's Ellen Trout Zoo has increased -- by one, and the zoo's employees and staff members can be forgiven for acting like proud parents today.  One of the zoo's female wallabies has had a baby.
