The Major League Baseball season is right around the corner, and most team are starting spring training in the next week or two.  The Rangers and Astros have announced promotional schedules, so fans know when to plan for fireworks and dollar hot dog nights.

The Astros will have an Opening Day Street Fest on April 6th, and 40-thousand fans will get magnet schedules for the fridge.  Houston will also have nights where they give away Jose Altuve bobbleheads, Dallas Keuchel gnomes and George Springer replica jerseys.

The Rangers will also give away magnetic schedules on their Opening Day, and that's actually against the Astros on April 10th.  Texas also has plans to give away Derek Holland gnomes, beach towels, yearbooks, and camocaps.  And the always popular Dollar Hot Dog Night will be back, and fireworks too on several nights.

Getting down to business, do you think the Rangers and Astros can compete in the AL West?  Will they be any good this year?  We can only hope.  And if not, at least we've got gnomes and dollar hot dogs to keep us happy.
