The Houston Chronicle reports the 500 or so Game Wardens at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are always on the go in the warm weather months, especially on holiday weekends.

Enforcing Texas fishing and water safety laws on lakes, bays and rivers is just one of the jobs of a game warden.  Holiday weekends always bring out lots of novice boaters who've never learned how to handle a boat or even learn state boating laws.

Unfortunately, many of them also drink -- a lot.  These are the people the Game Wardens are on the look out for, and they reeled a bunch of them in over the Memorial Day weekend.

Chronicle Outdoors Editor Shannon Tompkins has compiled a short list of some of the more notable incidents and cases the game wardens have handled.

Some were right here in east Texas, and we promise you'll be amazed at the lengths to which the Game Wardens will go to make a case and arrest suspects.
