In less than one month it will be time for the 30th annual Texas State Forest Festival in Lufkin.

That means a carnival, foods that you don't see every day (like fried twinkies and meatballs on a stick), a cheerleading competition, and more.

The Texas State Forest Festival will officially start on Sept. 17 and run through Sept. 21, and is expected to attracted thousands of people.  It's always a shot in the arm for the Angelina County economy.

You may remember that earlier this year the festival was ranked “Best in Texas” by the Texas Festival and Events Association.

And this may be the best year yet, with new events added.  A couple of those are the women's lumberjack show and a tiger show.
