You may not know this, but National Drive-In Movie Day is coming up next week! That's right, on June 6th, you can celebrate this unique theater day!

If you're sitting there saying to yourself, "But Mark, we don't have a drive-in here..." well, you need to pump your brakes. There's actually a couple of drive-ins that aren't too far away.

First off, there's the "Showboat Drive-In" that's located in Hockley. This is a fairly new venue that opened up in 2006. Prices are $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for children ages 3-12, and Free for children two and under. You pay one price, and you get to see two feature films. Showboat is only a little over two hours from Lufkin.

Then, there's my personal favorite, "Galaxy Drive-In" in Ennis. Just like Showboat, you get to see two movies for one price. However, you get a bigger selection of movies with Galaxy. There are actually seven different screens to choose from. That's 14 DIFFERENT MOVIES! Prices at Galaxy are $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids. To get to Galaxy Drive-In, you only have to drive about two and a half hours.

Keep in mind, I haven't personally been to Showboat Drive-In, so I can't vouch for it. However, the times that I've been to Galaxy Drive-In, it's always been a good time.

So, if you're in the mood for a movie, but don't want to be indoors to watch it, use National Drive-In Movie Day as an excuse to go to the big screen!
