You don't meet many people in our neck of the woods that don't like dogs. I mean, sure, there are people that don't really want to be around the dogs, but they aren't completely opposed to them.

We've got people with big dogs, little dogs, fluffy dogs, mutts, purebreds, and everything in between. But what's the favorite dog of East Texas?

    The German Shepherd

This is one of my personal favorites. I know they're large, but they are one of the most awesome, loyal breeds (in my opinion).

    The Golden Retriever

Now, this is one that I do know a thing or two about. My very first dog was a golden retriever, and he was also the best animal that I've owned. You can't go wrong with a golden.

    The Poodle

This one took me by surprise when my parents got one. However, that little poodle was one of the most loyal, playful dogs that I've ever been around.

    The Beagle

Another great breed of dog, and another personal favorite of mine. The one we had was one of the sweetest creatures.

    The Labrador

Another good breed, ranking right up there with the golden retriever. Especially fun when going to the lake.

    The Pit Bull

This isn't a breed that I know much about, but I do know that the people that own these dogs absolutely love them, and wouldn't want another kind.
