Want to Be a State Trooper? Recruiting Event Coming to Lufkin
How would you like to wear a cowboy hat to work every day? No, this is not a job as a ranch hand or professional rodeo cowboy. I'm talking about the possibility of being a State Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
If you have ever thought about being in law enforcement, or maybe you already are and you're thinking of a change, the Texas Department of Public Safety has an event just for you. They will be hosting a Recruitment and Testing Session on Saturday, July 23, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Lufkin Department of Public Safety Office which is located at 2809 South John Redditt Drive, near Grace Dunn Richardson Park.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently searching for applicants for upcoming Recruit Schools at the DPS Academy. The Recruiting and Testing Session in Lufkin offers an opportunity for those interested in a career with DPS to meet with recruiters, as well as complete the written and physical testing requirements needed, prior to applying for the DPS Training Academy. No reservations are required.
According to their Facebook Page, the Texas Department of Public Safety offers excellent benefits and competitive salaries. Those with previous law enforcement experience may also qualify for better pay.
Anyone wanting more information is asked to reach out to the local contact, Sergeant Corey Bean. His number is 936-404-9248. He can guide you on what to bring, what to wear, and what to expect during this recruiting session.
