As a parent, if you get a letter this year from your child's school saying a classmate has head lice, it's because a new Texas law requires the school to send it. But there is one instance that will remain undercover, and parents will never know.

To perform better in school, maybe kids need less time in the classroom. Some Texas schools are gaining attention for tripling the recess time for students, and we're waiting to see if this growing trend catches on in East Texas.

Hey, real fast.  The Lufkin Middle School "clothes closet" in running in short supply for children in need, and is seeking community donations.  The most notable items required are pants and polo shirts.   Due to uniform policy, polo's can be any solid color except for red.  Pants can be "navy", "black", or "khaki".

Students at Evergreen Park High School in Illinois may be well-advised to avoid excessive water intake — or find themselves with longer school days. Some teachers there have implemented a policy of allowing each student only three bathroom visits during class each semester. Any subsequent visits require students to make up the class time later in the day.
