Why don't you wash up before reading this...

What did you do this past weekend? Did it involve work around the house? It did for me and chances are it was the same for you. And honestly, it's unfair that our weekends typically involve manual labor around the house. Yet, when else are we able to find the time?

A recent survey has revealed that Americans spend 53 hours per month working around the house.

The study was conducted by a lawn equipment company called Cub Cadet and included work like pulling weeds, cleaning the bathroom, laundry and more. They also found that, based on the federal minimum wage of $7.25, that if we got paid for this work, we'd be making an extra $384.25 a month. I don't know about you, but I could find several things to spend that cash on.

And here are the household chores we hate doing the most:

1. Pulling weeds
2. Cleaning the bathroom
3. Edging the lawn
4. Laying mulch
5. Mowing the lawn

It looks like the manual labor we can't stand the most is the list of things that come in the summer. I can honestly say that my husband and I have done all of these things in the last month. We like to call it our "workout" for the day... Or maybe the week.
