ESPN reports the Mesquite Pee Wee Football Association has told 12 year old Elijah Earnhardt that he can't play in their league. They point to league rules that say any kid who weighs more than 135 pounds has to play his football at school.

Elijah says he doesn't want to play at school because most of the kids there have more experience than he has.  He wants to play in the Pee Wee League to get some experience before going out for football at school.

Elijah's mother is protesting the decision.  Cindy Earnhardt told Dallas TV station KDFW she will keep pushing to get him into the league.  Stay tuned.
