Yesterday morning, students and staff at a Shreveport high school campus had a tense moment.  According to KSLA, a loaded gun fell from a student's backpack while school was in session.

The school resource officer on duty (a sworn Shreveport police officer) recovered the firearm at Caddo Career & Technology Center yesterday, but Caddo School District spokeswoman Mary Nash Wood was quick to point out that the student never threatened or attempted to harm anyone.  The school serves 10 area High School by teaching 25 programs which enable students to become college and career ready.

Both the gun and the unnamed student are in custody.  Neither the school nor the Shreveport Police Department have released any further information.
