LBJ owned and kept several personal cars at his ranch in central Texas, but, those who knew him say this big white 1964 Lincoln convertible was his personal favorite.

He used it to drive guests and friends around his famous ranch near Johnson City, west of Austin.  He drove it until just before his death in 1973.

The LBJ Lincoln will be auctioned at the Central Texas Museum of Automotive History near Smithville, about 35 miles southeast of Austin.

The auction will benefit the LBJ Foundation, which owns the car.  The foundation provides funds to The University of Texas at Austin, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, and the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs.
