Waco, Texas is home to the Dr Pepper Museum, and it has been a major attraction in downtown Waco for over 30 years. Even though the headquarters of Dr Pepper moved to Frisco, Texas a long time ago, the story of its origin and its place in the history of Waco remains thanks to the efforts of many generous benefactors, and is housed in a 120 year old building that once bottled America's oldest soft drink beverage at the corner of 5th Street and Mary Avenue.

Dr Pepper was first served in 1885 at Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store (no clue how long it must have been in existence to already be called "Old" way back in 1885), so the soda itself is celebrating its 140th birthday this year. In 1991, the mass production of Dr P was moved into the 1906 Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company building, and eventually took the name Dr Pepper Company.

The official 34th birthday celebration will be tomorrow on Saturday May 10th, and you will be able to enjoy $2 admission. During the party there will be two winners selected to win free soda for a year, and at least one winner is guaranteed to be a Waco resident.
