Lake In Texas Closed Until Further Notice Due To Unsafe Water

It has been raining in Texas so much recently, and it's honestly great.

Everybody knows that the Texas heat is something we all have to deal with. When it hits over 100 degrees, you can almost hear the clicks of air conditioners turning on during every hour of the day. Suffice to say, we all get tired of it sooner or later.

So does the area around us too, as when we get into a drought, water restrictions may occur. Many a Texan has prayed for rain when we go long stretches without it. Which is why it's been great to see the amount of rain the Lone Star State has been getting lately. However, there are some side effects that many might not have expected.

While lakes in the state are beginning to rise to normal levels, there's also the chance a lake could overflow. That has happened in Texas recently, and has caused one lake to be closed due to the water being hazardous.

Lake In Houston, Texas Closed For Water Issues

As reported by Newsweek, Lake Houston is closed until the water in the body of water can go down. This is due to the fact, per Newsweek, that Houston received above average rainfall to begin the month of May. A post to social media also alerted those in the area to the closure:
