(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - The LSU Tigers are preparing to host the Alabama Crimson Tide this Saturday afternoon in Tiger Stadium, and LSU Football Coach Lane Kiffin has an important message for Tiger fans.

LSU and Alabama are one of the best rivalries in college football, and sadly, after this year the two teams willl not be playing each other every year due to realignments within the SEC.

Knowing that, this week's game in Baton Rouge feels even more meaningful, but sadly, it won't kick off until the sun finds its home in the western sky.

Both LSU and Alabama are fighting to keep their college football playoff dreams alive, and it just feels like whoever loses Saturday in "Death Valley" will be out of the race for a National Championship.

Time for LSU and Alabama Game

So yes, this is a huge game for both the Tigers and the Crimson Tide, but apparently the television networks think there is a bigger game this weekend, as LSU and Bama have been forced to kick off at 2:30 pm.

You read that correctly: LSU and Alabama won't play under the lights at Tiger Stadium this Saturday, but under the bright sunlight over LSU's campus.

Say what you want, but a daytime game at LSU does not compare to a night game in the stadium, and while players have to adjust to the early kickoff, fans do too. One of the best attractions at LSU on game day is tailgating, and with such an early kickoff on Saturday, fans will either have to start early or show up just in time for kickoff.

Knowing how important it is for LSU to have home-field advantage with fans on a different level, LSU Coach Lane Kiffin offered some important advice for Tiger fans. In a recent press conference, he told fans to adjust their schedule and start what they normally do earlier.

LSU fans have been conditioned through the years to tailgate all day, then enter the stadium as the sun begins to set to cheer on the Tigers. Well, that's not happening this week, so fans will have to begin their traditions earlier, and that may include consuming an adult beverages.

Kiffin told fans that they may need to start drinking early this week so that they are primed for the 2:30 p.m. kickoff, and while his advice got a good laugh from some, I think he was serious. He knows what a fired-up crowd means to his team, and you can see his advice to fans HERE.

How to Watch LSU-Alabama Game

The first-year LSU coach also jokingly suggested that they'll close Baton Rouge down Friday night at 10 pm so that everyone is in bed early. The LSU-Alabama game is sold out, but fans can still watch on ABC.

For those wondering, the last time LSU played Alabama during daylight hours in Tiger Stadium was in 2010, and LSU defeated Alabama 24-21.
