(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - They say it's never too late to accomplish your dreams, and that is precisely what old Kent Broussard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, did.

Kent was recently featured on CBS Evening News after he decided to fulfill a lifelong dream by trying out for the LSU Tigers Marching Band. Yes, the retired accountant decided to go back to school and try out for the prestigious marching band.

Like so many kids, when Kent was much younger, he fell in love with the "Golden Band From Tiigerland," but he never tried out for it until now.

The retired accountant told his wife, Cheryl, that he was going back to school and that he was going to try out for the band at LSU, where he wanted to play the tuba.

So, not only did the 66-year-old enroll at LSU, but he also got back in the gym lifting weights and running more than 20 miles a week to be fit so that he could perhaps be in the band of his dreams.

Kent ultimately enrolled and tried out to be part of the prestigious collegiate band, and wouldn't you know, he made the team. Yes, Kent will debut on September 6, 2025, in Tiger Stadium, so if you're around the campus this football season, look out for Kent and applaud him when you see him.

"Tuba Kent" told CBS News that you should never fear failing, get out there and try what you want to accomplish, as he did.
