(San Antonio, Texas) Six Flags Fiesta Texas will soon be adding a new roller coaster to its already impressive lineup of coasters with the introduction of Werewolf Gorge for its 35th season in 2027.

Six Flags is also gearing up for another new roller coaster, this one in Arlington.  The anticipation is building as Six Flags Over Texas appears to be just days away from opening its new record-breaking giga dive coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run, in the park's rethemed Spain section. This new roller coaster will take riders 309 feet above the Arlington, Texas, skyline, hang them over the edge, then drop them down a 95-degree beyond vertical drop at speeds reaching 87 miles per hour.

While Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington is celebrating with a new coaster this year, Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio recently announced details on a new family launch coaster that will debut in 2027 as part of its 35th anniversary season.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas Reveals Werewolf Gorge

The new family launch roller coaster will deliver thrills for nearly all the members of your family. The new coaster will be called Werewolf Gorge. This family coaster will feature four launches, a mid-course rollback, and a 39-inch height requirement. Most roller coaster height requirements are 48 inches; this new height minimum will allow younger guests to be introduced to the thrills of riding a roller coaster sooner.

What Makes Werewolf Gorge Unique?

Once open, Werewolf Gorge will be the world's longest family launch coaster, stretching 4,120 feet. The ride will last more than two-and-a-half minutes and feature four launches reaching speeds of 45 miles per hour. One thing coaster enthusiasts, like myself, look for in a roller coaster is a feature called 'airtime'. This new coaster will have 31 airtime moments built into the layout.

A Story-Driven Ride Experience

Werewolf Gorge will be more than a roller coaster, though. While guests travel through the queue line, they will learn the story of Werewolf Gorge and the centuries-old werewolf curse before they reach the loading platform.

Texas Continues Its Roller Coaster Boom

This is yet another roller coaster that I am looking forward to riding once it is complete. Texas is experiencing a roller coaster boom, with new attractions opening across the state at Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, SeaWorld San Antonio, and with the opening of CotaLand soon. If you're looking for world-class roller coasters, Texas is quickly becoming the place to ride them.
