7 New Year’s Weekend Activities Across East Texas

The Christmas decorations will most likely be coming down across East Texas this weekend. Your family that was in town visiting for Christmas will soon be making their way back to their homes and life around your place will look 'normal' once again.

This weekend marks the final weekend of 2023. As we prepare to ring in 2024 Sunday night we'll be partying and hoping that 2024 will be a much better year for all of us. While it is a holiday weekend, that doesn't mean the fun has stopped, quite a few things are happening around East Texas.

Party And Drink Responsibly This Holiday Weekend

If you're attending a New Year's Eve party and plan on drinking, please don't drink and drive. Know your limits and know when to stop. If you've had too much to drink arrange for a ride home. If you're hosting a party, watch your guests and if you feel they've had too much, give them a ride home. Just don't get behind the wheel if you've been drinking.

This is the final weekend for Jefferson Trade Days' December run. Vendors offer a very wide assortment of crafts, baked goods, chocolates, fresh shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico, and some awesome paintings. Located 5.5 miles north of Jefferson on Hwy. 59.

Longview World Of Wonder Box In A Box Event

It'll be an afternoon of fun at Longview's World Of Wonder children's museum. They're hosting the annual box sculpture and nesting competition. The event is described as:

New Year's Eve 2024 Fireworks On Lake Palestine

There will be live music lakeside, karaoke, and a fireworks show at midnight to ring in 2024. There is an admission charge for this event.

2023-2024 New Year's Eve Ball

Ring in 2024 and dance the night away at this MTV-style video show with all of the music artists that YOU LOVE and all of the favorite music videos that YOU REMEMBER on a 32FT SCREEN with a midnight champagne toast celebration. All proceeds will go to charity. Black tie is optional. There will also be a midnight champagne toast. There is an admission charge for this event.
