The Total Eclipse Will Darken These East Texas Cities At This Time
The total solar eclipse will be darkening the skies of East Texas on Monday, April 8th around 1:40 in the afternoon.
Many East Texas cities, mainly in the western portion of the area, are within the 'Path of Totality', meaning they'll get to experience the full solar eclipse, and for some areas that could be up to four and a half minutes of darkness during the middle of the day!
People from all across the globe are flocking to the Path of Totality as it makes its way through Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Vermont, and Maine to view this celestial phenomenon. During this time, the Earth's moon will be passing directly between the sun and Earth casting a big shadow across the North American continent.
Thanks to technology, we're able to know the exact time the eclipse will be happening in our area. There's an interactive map on the NASA website that will tell you when the eclipse will be happening in your area and how much coverage there will be.
