Before you can blink, it will be time for the 4th of July and all the celebrations that go with that. This is the biggest time of the year for big fireworks shows. Shreveport has one of the biggest in the state. It's all part of the KTBS Freedom Fest happening on Friday July 4 at several locations in the region.

Here are some of the best fireworks shows planned across Louisiana for the 4th of July this year.

Baton Rouge Fireworks Show

Fireworks on the Mississippi is one of the biggest fireworks show in the state. This holiday event happens at the Riverfront Plaza and City Dock and is free. The fireworks will light up the sky beginning at 9pm.

Lake Charles Fireworks Show

Red, White, Blue & You Festival will be happening at the Lake Charles Event Center. This is a day long festival with food, music and fun. This event will also feature a hot dog eating competition. The day caps off with fireworks at dark.

Mandeville Fireworks Show

Light Up the Lake will happen on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The big events get going at 3pm. You will find lots of activities for children and all kinds of fun. This massive fireworks finale is set to go off just before 9pm.

Monroe and West Monroe Fireworks Show

This patriotic event includes shopping, food, and a day of festivities. The fireworks will be launched over the Ouachita River. The best place to watch this big event is from Downtown West Monroe, Downtown Monroe, or the West Monroe levee.

Celebration on the Cane will feature a pretty big fireworks show along the bank of the Cane River in the heart of the community. The downtown riverfront will come alive with food vendors, music and fun activities for youngsters. The fireworks will happen as soon as darkness sets in.

Go 4th on the River festival is happening over the Mississippi River. Two barges in the river will be used to launch this spectacular show beginning at 9pm. You can check out this show from both the East and West banks. This is a free, family friendly event.

Freedom Fest is sponsored by KTBS and bring thousands of folks to the riverfront in downtown Shreveport for this day of celebrating. It includes live music, food, family activities, and a huge fireworks show. The event not only features fireworks in downtown Shreveport. But there will also be spectacular over Cypress Lake in Bossier Parish.
