Shocking Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Texas Sheriff
When the Texas Rangers show up, you know it's serious. A North Texas sheriff who is accused of crossing every line with female employees, then flexing his power when they spoke up. As evidence continues to pile up, the Texas sheriff has yet to resign.
Over the summer, a female employee filed an HR complaint against Johnson County Sheriff Adam King. To avoid conflicts, Texas Rangers from another region were brought in to take over the case.
What the Texas sheriff is being accused of.
Prosecutors say that after learning about the original complaint, King tried to obtain the employee’s home address, “knowing” it would make a reasonable person feel harassed or terrified.
The filing lists multiple alleged statements to the woman: telling her to remove a sweater over a V-neck and that she must “disrobe” before he’d sign documents; “If you keep losing weight, you’re gonna make me do some ungodly things to you”; a remark about “what I did to women wearing white pants” in his younger days; and, after hearing she planned a 6 a.m. start, “That’s early enough that you don’t have to wear any clothes,” later adding it “depends if you’re wearing clothes or not.”

Other comments and threats
The document also notes remarks to other women (“You look really good”) and an inappropriate line to a group: “Don’t tell people/your husbands the sheriff puts his cream in your tea.” He also allegedly threatened to handcuff and book the complainant into the county jail and threatened Chief Deputy James Saulter after Saulter reported the allegations, raising whistleblower concerns.
What’s next, and can the sheriff continue to work?
County officials say the complainant remains employed, and King, who is married, is still in office.
"I think we trust the criminal justice system to do the right thing and find the truth, and while Mr. King is entitled to a presumption of innocence, no one is above the law," Boedeker said.
