Texas Ren Fest Traffic Goes Viral, Would You Wait This Long?
The Renaissance Festival in Texas is the largest in the nation and brings in half a million visitors a year, but is it worth waiting in traffic for two hours?
Earlier this year, there were rumors that the Renaissance Festival would not happen in 2025, after a very messy lawsuit and the suicide of the founder, “King George” Coulam. However, the festival continued on and is wrapping up its 51st season at the end of November.
The festival is iconic and the largest in the nation, but is it worth the hype?
Dozens of TikTok videos show the chaos you’re required to go through before you even walk through the gates. TikTok user @roadangel811 recorded the insane line that awaits anyone trying to get inside the festival.
@roadangel811 I didn’t even video the first mile or so of traffic. This is the longest line I’ve seen getting into the Renaissance. #texasrenaissancefestival #toddmissiontexas #fyp ♬ Celtic Flashy Celtic Music - Masucu
The line goes on for miles and looks like it moves slower than molasses.
Other videos reveal the same type of traffic jam. The comment sections are full of people complaining about the traffic, but it doesn’t stop when you park. Many people share how crowded it is inside the festival:
“The past two years have felt like shoulder to shoulder with people,” one person wrote.
Is the $22 turkey leg worth the wait?
Some say no, but the massive turnout is undeniable. Regardless of the traffic and crowd, people still flock to the festival. The festival is a tradition for many people, and for a short moment in time, you can forget all your stress and be free.
