Witness the Launch of Sculpture in the SFA Gardens
Visitors of the SFA Gardens in Nacogdoches will soon be seeing more artwork along the pathways. The Gardens and the School of Art are launching a new partnership called "Sculpture in the SFA Gardens".
This new venture will allow visitors to not only enjoy the gardens, but to enjoy original art by artists from all over, including some SFA students.
More Details About Sculpture in the SFA Gardens
According to the Sculpture in the SFA Gardens website, this new addition is actually an exhibition that will feature 10 artists from not only Texas, but also Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Something else to keep in mind is that this will be an annual exhibition, so new artists and new sculptures will be featured each year.

I mentioned SFA students being featured, but there will also be artwork from SFA faculty members, as well. So, that means you'll get to see artwork from the teachers AND their students. I'd say that's a pretty neat experience for everyone involved.
Sculpture in the SFA Gardens Inaugural Reception
Since this is the inaugural year for this new partnership, there is going to be an opening reception on Saturday, April 18th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the creators of the artwork in-person. At 3:00 that afternoon there will be a talk at the Council Ring of the Ruby M. Mize Azalea Garden where attendees will hear members from both the SFA Gardens and the School of Art discuss this event and what they can expect going forward.
