There are lots of reason to enjoy driving laws in Texas. One of those reasons is the ability to turn right - as long as it's safe - even on red lights. For the vast majority of intersections in Texas, this is allowable.

However, there's one intersection in Nacogdoches where it's not allowed. I didn't even know about it until I saw the sign that read "No Right Turn On Red". I've been driving the roads around Nac for pretty much my entire life, and I haven't noticed this one before.

Intersection of Main Street and South Fredonia Street = No Right Turn on Red

If you're cruising north on South Fredonia Street and you come up on the intersection with Main Street, right in front of Commercial Bank of Texas, you need to know that you CANNOT turn right until the light turns green. This is the intersection I'm referring to:

If you pull up to that intersection that's circled in red, you may or may not notice the small sign informing you about not being allowed to turn right if the light is red.

Sure, this might seem like a simple post, but I'm just trying to keep you readers from making the same mistake that I ALMOST made. I was about to turn, but then I saw the sign. Ironically enough, there was also a Nacogdoches Police Officer in the vicinity. I'm pretty sure a ticket would've been issued if I had plowed ahead like I had planned.

So, be sure to keep an eye on those traffic signs, and if you know of any other streets or roads with anomalies like this one, let me know!
