Tex-Mex Fans, National Burrito Day is Almost Here
If you're like me - and more than 90% of the population in Deep East Texas - then you're a fan of Tex-Mex cuisine. I could have Tex-Mex for all meals, every day. Would I get tired of it? Doubtful. But I'm not here to discuss my meal preferences. I'm here to discuss an upcoming national day that just so happens to involve my meal preferences. And I'm pretty pumped about it.
National Burrito Day is Thursday, April 2nd
According to the National Day Calendar, National Burrito Day occurs on the first Thursday in April. That means that this year, it will officially be on April 2, 2026. It almost fell on April Fool's Day, but it didn't, so that means that this is no joke. This is a legitimate day that I'd put up there as being as great as National Oreo Cookie Day.
Before you write it off, think about it. The burrito is probably one of the most versatile foods there is. You can fill the tortilla with whatever you want. You've got beans, cheese, beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, fish, veggies, sauces of all different types, and more. Once you've got all that, you wrap it up and take it on the go! It's a full meal all-in-one! Or, if you prefer to sit and eat - I don't know, maybe you're feeling just a bit more formal - you can sit down and eat it with silverware. No judgement here!
