If you're looking for something to do on Friday night, but you prefer a more laid-back event, then you might want to see what's going on at the Cole Art Center in Downtown Nacogdoches this weekend.

Nacogdoches Photography Club to Host Gallery Show Opening Reception July 10th

Friday, July 10th, the Nacogdoches Photography Club will be hosting the opening reception for their 2026 Gallery Show at the Cole Art Center. For those of you that aren't as familiar with Nacogdoches, the Cole Art Center is located at 329 E. Main Street, next door to the Nacogdoches Cigar Co.

The reception kicks off at 6:00 PM that evening, and features art pieces from local Nacogdoches photographers. Not only will the artwork be on display, but there will be refreshments provided for all the attendees.

If you can't make it to the reception on July 10th, you can still swing by and see the photography artwork at some other time. According to the SFA Art Galleries & Cole Art Center Facebook page, it's already installed and on display. If you'd like to go by and see the gallery, the center is open from Noon to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday.

I'm not sure how long the photography gallery show will be on display, but you probably don't want to wait to long, just to make sure you don't miss out. What I do know is that there's only one opening reception, and if you miss it, that's all there is - until next year of course. So, like I said earlier, you might want to make your way to the Cole Art Center on Friday, July 10th.

I walked through the University Mall in Nacogdoches for the last time in 2019. Luckily, I snapped these pictures before I left.
