East Texas Man Charged After Alleged Sexual Assault of Neighbor’s Dog

Blayne Barefield, a 23-year-old East Texas man, has been charged with bestiality, criminal trespass and public intoxication after investigators alleged, he sexually assaulted a neighbor's dog in Longview. Arrest records say officers responded to a report at a duplex property and took Barefield into custody.

What the Arrest Affidavit Says Happened

According to arrest documents obtained by CBS19, Barefield was found sexually assaulting his neighbor's male pit bull inside a Longview backyard last week. Barefield was booked into the Gregg County Jail on bonds totaling $12,500, and according to jail records, he is still in custody.

According to an arrest affidavit, someone reported that a man was sexually assaulting their dog at a Longview duplex property. When officers arrived a Longview officer found a man who was unclothed and on all fours in a backyard. He was exposing himself to a male pitbull, backing up and allowing the dog to get on top of him.

Officers Describe Barefield's Condition

The officer intervened and ended the encounter. The officer also noted that Barefield appeared to be lethargic and intoxicated.

The dog owner reported seeing Barefield allow the dog to penetrate him, and they noticed the assault 10 minutes prior to the police being called, according to the documents.

The officer retrieved a flask in the back pocket of Barefield's clothing with a liquid still inside it. Barefield reportedly told officers he had consumed two cups of vodka earlier that day. When booked into jail, the officer said that he was "a danger to himself and/or others."
