Fired from work for attending a drag show.

With the first day of school right around the corner, two Baytown Texas teachers have found themselves without jobs after photos surfaced of the two educators attending a drag show in Houston.

It's against policy.

Not ever guessing in a million years that they were breaking their church school policy by their attendance at a drag show, the two teachers were having such a great time at the show that they took photos and posted them on their social media accounts.

They were fired over the phone!

Kristi Maris and an unnamed coworker were both let go over the phone without being given the opportunity to tell their coworkers or students goodbye.

Kristi Maris had been employed at First Baptist Academy for 19 years.

Maris, who has been a physical education teacher at First Baptist Academy in Baytown Texas for 19 years is still in disbelief over being fired and offers that she and her coworker were treated like criminals!

The pastor who fired them offered that attending the drag show and posting about it was against church policy.

The "policy' in the First Baptist Academy handbook that they supposedly defied states, "I will act in a godly and moral fashion at work, on Facebook, and in my community."

Kristi Maris who is a Christian is still in shock.

“Say that was my son, I would love him. It wouldn’t matter to me as long as he’s happy. I want everybody else to do that, too,“ Maris says.

Love Everybody Equally

Maris finishes the above interview by offering that she would definitely go to a drag show again and says she hopes the children she taught know “to love everybody equally.”
