What To Expect At The Event
Quaid will discuss his advocacy for Texas film and television industry incentives, offering firsthand insights into the intersection of entertainment and economic development. As part of the “True to Texas: Let’s Bring Productions Home” campaign, Quaid joined fellow Texas stars Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Billy Bob Thornton and Renée Zellweger in championing Senate Bill 22 which took effect Sept. 1, dramatically increased funding for the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program, allocating $300 million every two years to attract major film and television productions to the Lone Star State.
There could be a birthday cake and singing of 'Happy Birthday', since the renowned actor will be celebrating his 72nd birthday on April 9.
My Favorite Dennis Quaid Movies
Quaid's TV and movie career spans back to the 1970s, and he remains extremely busy. He has several other movies and projects due in 2026/2027, including the NASCAR-based drama, 'Thunder Road'. Quaid plays an Army Ranger Sergeant Major on 'War Machine', starring Alan Ritchson, one of the past year's biggest hits on Netflix.
I enjoyed 'War Machine', but my favorite Dennis Quaid movies include 'Innerspace', 'The Rookie', and 'Frequency'. All these movies are more than 20 years old, but if you haven't seen them yet, I would encourage you to give them a try.
