Lufkin’s Honor America Night is November 7 at Abe Martin Stadium
Tuesday, Lufkin High School Marching Band Co-Drum Majors, Daniel Linan and Aiden Haney, joined me on the Merrell in the Morning Show on KICKS 105. The purpose of the interview was to give details on the annual Honor America Night at Abe Martin Stadium.

What is Honor America Night?
Every year, the middle school and high school bands from Lufkin Independent School District present music and marching to honor local veterans and current members of the United States Armed Forces. The Lufkin High School Marching Band will present their military drill routine that they recently performed at the state competition on the campus of Baylor University. At the end of the musical performances, a spectacular fireworks display will bring the event to a close.
The Extra Significance Of This Year's Event
In a few weeks, the process of tearing down Abe Martin Stadium and replacing it with a new, multi-million-dollar facility will begin. That's why this year's Honor America Night will probably be the last event at the stadium. The new facility is expected to be completed in time for the fall 2028 football season. In addition to honoring our veterans and military personnel, the Lufkin bands are proud to be able to play patriotic pieces honoring America's 250th birthday.
The community is invited to come out and enjoy what is expected to be a cool fall evening. Tickets are just $5 and may be purchased from any Lufkin Band student, the Lufkin High School Band office, or at the stadium gate beginning at 6 pm the night of the event. The performance will begin at 7 pm. Anyone wth questions may call (936)630-4353.
