The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department has been busy working alongside Tyler Area Ambucs on renovating Southside Park in Tyler.

Tyler Area Ambucs "is a nonprofit organization made up of business men and women in the Tyler area who are dedicated to creating mobility and independence for those with disabilities." Isn't that a beautiful mission?

Thanks to this collaboration, you'll see some amazing changes. Some of the most important ones? I'm so happy to say that they've added "ramps, swings, and slides that accommodate kids with mobility disabilities and wheelchairs," according to their Facebook page. This will make Southside Park the first of it's type in Tyler--and hopefully not the last.

Because of these renovations, children with mobility issues will be able to have fun at their local playground, just like any child. Just like all children should be able to do.

You're invited to the ribbon cutting on this new inclusive play area on October 26, at 10 a.m. In addition, there will be refreshments and the opportunity to visit the booths of those sponsors that contributed to make this possible.

Way to go Tyler. That's winning. <3
