The Angelina Benefit Rodeo presented by the Lufkin Hosts Lions Club is back for 2021. The event had to be sidelined last year due to safety concerns with COVID-19, but the greatest show on dirt is ready to roll this year.

The rodeo will take place April 21-24 at the George H Henderson Expo Center in Lufkin. 11-time stock contractor of year, Stace Smith, will be back again along with some of the top names in rodeo.  Tickets for the rodeo are on sale now at Boot Barn at the Lufkin Mall.

You can't have the Angelina Benefit Rodeo without the annual Mutton Bustin' Championships.  Each night of the rodeo, 12 youngsters will get the opportunity to a ride a sheep for points.  The high scorer each night will be crowned champion for their respective night as well as receive a prize.

Registrations for the chance to be drawn to ride are being taken now at Boot Barn in Lufkin.  In order to enter, the child must be between the ages of 5-9 and weigh less than 60 pounds.  Twelve riders will be drawn for each night of the rodeo.  The drawings will take place at Boot Barn on Tuesday, April 20 during the KICKS 105 Road Show from 3 pm until 5 pm.  The drawings will start just after 3 pm.  Parents of the riders drawn will be contacted that afternoon and evening.
