The Fast & Furious crew just added another new member to its growing #family, officially confirming Kurt Russell’s return in the process. And while Scott Eastwood will probably make a fine addition to Fast 8, Russell reprising his role as Mr. Nobody is just a bit more exciting, don’t you think? (Of course you do.) In any case, Eastwood has signed on for the upcoming sequel, in which he’ll share some screen time with Russell.

Universal announced Eastwood’s casting today via Twitter, adding that the actor and son of Clint Eastwood will play Mr. Nobody’s protege — it’s also the first real confirmation that Russell is returning to reprise his Furious 7 role:

Who wouldn’t want to follow Kurt Russell around and learn everything he has to offer? Scott Eastwood, you are truly blessed.

Eastwood joins returning Fast & Furious cast members Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris, with Jason Statham reprising his role as antagonist Deckard Shaw (who may or may not be part cockroach given his inhuman resilience). Charlize Theron was recently confirmed as the film’s new villain, with Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju playing her henchman (or one of them, anyway).

F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) is directing Fast 8, which hits theaters on April 14, 2017.
