Operation BBQ Relief needs your assistance to help serve hot meals to those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

We've all seen the devastation and flooding in Houston caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Operation BBQ Relief teams from Memphis, Kansas City, Shreveport, and Austin loaded supplies and prepared trailers to respond to the needs created from Harvey. They left these locations on Sunday, and are staging near Austin until it is safe for teams to proceed. They are prepared to serve 10,000+ hot bbq meals a day.

OBR is planning on staying deployed for weeks until things get back to normal.

They need donations both monetary, as well as product. Here is a small list of products needed once they get to their location:
  • Protein (Pork butt, pork loin, turkey, etc.)
  • Bread (buns and loaves)
  • #10 cans of corn and green beans

OBR is asking volunteers to register on their website or you can use the new OBR Volunteer App that can be downloaded for iPhone from iTunes and Android from Google Play. Click here for the Operation BBQ Relief Application.

Lastly, share their messages on your social media. They are posting primarily on Facebook, but you can follow them on Twitter and Instagram as well.

We donate 5% of all Pit Master Club membership fees to our friends at Operation Barbecue Relief. They are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit disaster relief program that sends barbecue competition teams into US disaster areas to feed the first responders and homeless. If there is a tornado, or flood they are there within hours. Please take the time to assist this amazing team. Donate Now.
