Flash Flood Watch in Effect Tuesday-Thursday for Parts of Pineywoods
Heavy rainfall is expected to move across Deep East Texas beginning Tuesday night and continuing through Thursday morning. For that reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch from 1 p.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Thursday.
Deep East Texas counties included are Angelina, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Sabine, Shelby, Cherokee, Rusk, and Panola.
Two to four inches of rain across the area should be rather commonplace, with higher amounts possible, especially in and around the ArkLaTex. A slow moving frontal boundary will cause 'training' of showers and thunderstorms across the area over the next 36 hours. Severe weather could also happen. Hail and damaging winds would be the most common components of any severe storms.
