Angelina College Goes Smoke-Free This Fall

Angelina College officials have decided it's time to ban all uses of tobacco products at the school.  The new policy makes the entire AC campus, including all off-campus centers, 100 percent tobacco-free.

Honor Student Cleared of Truancy Charge

A judge in Montgomery County has come to his senses, and has dropped the contempt citation he slapped on a high school honors student he put in jail for truancy.  The 17 year old student is also refusing to accept financial donations that are pouring in from around the world.

Update: Lon Morris College Closes, Hoping to Reopen

Push has finally come to shove at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville. Facing the worst financial crisis in its 158 year history, and acting on the advice of outside consultants, the Lon Morris Board of Trustees has furloughed the school's faculty and staff and shut the school down.

The small private two year college is teetering on the brink of oblivion, but hoping to reopen in the fall.
