No place but California.  An 83-year-old Santa Ana great-grandmother is making national headlines for having work done on her headlights.  And we’re not talking about her car.

Marie Kolstad of Orange County is the mother of four, the grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother to another 12.

Last month, Kolstad decided she needed a little boost in her breasts.  So she spent $8,000 and got it in a three-hour procedure.

Kolstad is not unique.  The New York Times reports a growing segment of the population, namely seniors, is buying into age-defying plastic surgery like never before.  Kolstad says  her doctor has patients even older than she.

One NY plastic surgeon says nearly ten percent of all breast enlargement procedures involve people over 65.

Kolstad says this isn't about lifting her boobs as much as it's about lifting her self-esteem, and she likes what she sees. “I just wanted nice ones,” she admitted.

Kolstad says she went from 32A to 36C, and she's now vacationing in Hawaii, showing off her new bikini.

Oh grandma!  What big -- uh -- headlights you have!
