Doesn't it feel good to vote? I think it does. There are things that motivate us to get to the polls, besides the obvious. The kids are talking about the election at school, and if Mama doesn't vote, they will be on my case!  What else encourages you to get to the polls?

U.S. intelligence officials have warned federal and local law enforcement of chatter indicating potential attacks by al-Qaeda terrorists in Texas, Virginia, and New York Monday.

There is no Presidential election this year, and that may mean fewer voters head to the polls. But election officials remind us that each vote counts, and there are still several important issues on ballots across East Texas.

Have you voted yet? Election officials in Angelina County say more than 5600 people voted early, in the two weeks prior to today’s primary. The race for Angelina County Sheriff is one to watch. On the Republican side voters will choose between Allen Hill and Greg Sanches. Jim Hodges runs unopposed as a Democrat for Sheriff. The polls are open from 7am to 7pm today, so let your voice be heard.
