Every month, representatives with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department release some of the more 'compelling' reports from Texas Game Wardens.

You know there's a lengthy tale behind every gravestone, and date markers like 1835-1893 just don't cut it. What in the world happened during that little dash?! Our state parks and wildlife folks are telling the stories, and one of those legends from a cemetery in Northeast Texas will make you glad you never crossed Frank Benson.

Every month we receive stories from the field reported by Texas Game Wardens and then reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.  The job of a game warden can be very dangerous, but sometimes, their field stories are downright hilarious.

I can only imagine some of the stories and/or excuses motorists under the influence give to law enforcement.  The following story took place recently in South Texas and was contributed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

With almost 200 public reservoirs and thousands of miles of  rivers and streams, there's no shortage of public places where you can go fishing for free.  Even so, experts say the best fishing holes are on private property, but fishing in them will cost you.
