The Salvation Army has been putting bell ringers outside stores for years, and even though the Red Kettle Campaign is in full swing there's still time to volunteer. Have you noticed some of the bell ringers are doing more than just ringing bells this season? They're making it fun, interesting, and sometimes a little weird!

An East Texas man tied this year's record for the longest consecutive bell-ringing streak in the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign. Andre Thompson of Tyler joined fellow ringers, Salvation Army Maj. Marcelino "Butch" Soriano in San Diego, and James Brickson of Albert Lea, Minnesota in the record books, by ringing for more than one hundred consecutive hours.

All of that spare change tossed into the famous Red Kettles at storefronts, will add up to thousands of dollars for the Salvation Army's charity work in Lufkin.
