(Explicit language in videos) Scattered storms dotted the East Texas map on Saturday afternoon and evening. Most of those storms provided brief heavy downpours and quite a few lightning strikes, however, a cell that moved through Polk County produced a short-lived tornado.
It's official. It WILL rain in east Texas tonight and over the weekend. Plan on it. People who're planning to go to a football game today and tomorrow would be wise to take their rain gear.
East Texas just can't catch a break. Even with all the rain Hurricane Isaac is dumping on Louisiana and Mississippi, forecasters at the National Weather Service say some parts of East Texas may not get a drop of that rain.
We have good news and we have bad news. The good news is that the first strong cold front of the season is expected to push through east Texas tonight or early tomorrow. The bad news is that it won't bring much if any rain with it.
