These high-tech helpers were designed to assist nurses by delivering medicine and supplies so that hospital staff can spend more time with their young patients. Instead of running back and forth to the pharmacy, nurses can now stay with kids who need care, while Rosey and Astro handle the errands. Plus, with their blinking eyes and light-up hearts, these robots bring a little extra joy to the hospital.

The names Rosey and Astro might sound familiar—that’s because the hospital let patients vote, and they chose names inspired by The Jetsons! The robots, created by Austin-based Diligent Robotics, have been hard at work since November, making hundreds of deliveries and saving hospital staff hundreds of hours of walking. Right now, they mostly carry medication, but soon, they might help transport lab tests too.

El Paso Children’s Hospital is the first in our area to use these robots, and so far, they’ve been a big hit. Nurses love having the extra help, and kids enjoy seeing the friendly robots cruising around. It’s a win-win!

Big thanks to El Paso Inc. for covering this exciting story. You can check out their article for all the details on these robot employees and how theyre helping make the lives of these hospital workers just a little easier.
