Easy & Creative Halloween Costumes With a Texas Twist
(Mix 93-1) Pretty soon you'll be asked the question, or you may ask the question to your kids or co-workers, "What are you going to be for Halloween this year?"
Halloween Is Closer Than You Think
At this point, we are less than two months away from Spooky Season, and right now, there is still plenty of time to decide on what you're going to dress up to be this Halloween.
We'll be dressing up in our favorite costumes and heading to one, if not more, Halloween parties with our friends. We'll be dressing up and going door-to-door with the kids as they do the trick-or-treating thing. Or you'll be the one, like me, dressed up, handing out candy to all the doorbell-ringing kids.
DIY vs. Store-Bought: Finding the Right Costume
When it comes to dressing up for Halloween, you can be as plain as you'd like or go all out with an elaborate costume. It can be store-bought or made at home. This is a time to be creative, have some fun, and show off another side of you and your alter ego.
Deciding what to be for Halloween, though, can cause anxiety among some people because they want to nail it and be instantly recognizable. The costume you create could be very Texas-centric, too. You could go as a Texas Ranger (both investigator and baseball player), a cowboy, an oil tycoon, or even an armadillo.
East Texas Spirit Halloween Stores Are Open
Now that Spirit Halloween stores are open in Tyler and Longview, and throughout Texas, you can get a lot of inspiration on what you'd like to be. You can stroll the aisles, come up with something clever and unique, and keep it within a Texas theme.

When it comes to my costume this year, unfortunately, it will not be centered around Texas. After watching the show 'The Traitors' on Peacock, I'd like to dress as a traitor. Wearing that long dark green velvet cloak with the oversized hood, and wearing the signature Traitors mask. To me, it's simple and easy to pull off, because I'm looking for something easy.
It would be cool to dress up as Alan Cumming, the show's host, but I wouldn't even be able to pull off anything like that. But it is Halloween after all, I could give it a try, but I doubt it. I'll stick with being a Traitor!
