If you love fried chicken as much as I do, you’re going to want to try the best in Texas. Here’s where to find it.

While I’m no food snob, I’m always looking to try the best of the best. And when it comes to restaurant suggestions, you won’t find a better resource than the website loveFOOD.

Their critics recently compiled a list of the best fried chicken in every state, so, of course, I had to see the result for the Lone Star State. It looks like I’ll be stopping by Mike’s Chicken the next time I’m in Dallas.

Let me tell you, after taking a look at their Instagram page, you can bet I’ll be making the trip sooner rather than later.

That’s some good-looking yardbird right there. Makes me wish I could reach through the screen and grab a drumstick and a biscuit.

The thing that’s most impressive to me is the fact that Mike’s Chicken managed to build a reputation for having some of the best chicken around in just over 10 years. They first opened their doors in 2014 and were recognized by Yelp just two years later.

They have two locations in Dallas: 4234 Maple Ave and 7752 Forest Lane. Both locations are open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Take a look at their menu here. But be warned – don't do it on an empty stomach.
