Driving around Lufkin, I noticed a splash pad at Kiwanis Park nestled behind the trees. I had forgotten it was there and thought everyone might need a reminder of these amazing resources in our area for something to do with the kids.

We are finally getting into the dog days of summer. This weekend is going to be one of the hottest of the summer.

Just because school is starting back in East Texas doesn't mean it's gotten any cooler. The Lufkin Parks And Recreation Splash Pads at Kiwanis Park, Chambers Park, and Jones Park are open daily from 10 am to 8 pm until September 20, 2024 according to lufkinparks.com.

Jones Park Pool Might Be Open But It's Closed On The Weekends

The pool at Jones Park is open in August per the website, but now that school has started at LISD, you might want to call ahead before you go. The fact that it's only open Monday - Friday, could keep you from going.

Nacogdoches And Diboll Also Have Splash Pads To Enjoy

It's hot all over Texas this time of year and there are other splash pads in the area you might need a refresher on. Nacogdoches Parks and Recreation has two splash pads.

One is at Temple Park and the other is the newer Splashadoches at Maroney Park. They are open from 10am - 7pm daily in the summer months.

The Diboll parks department has a spray pad at Old Orchard Park. Find a way to stay cool and keep the kids entertained during our last bit of summer.
