1 Million Dollar Bail Set For Suspected Murderer In Nacogdoches

Jalen Boughton, 23 of Nacogdoches, has been charged with murder for a Labor Day weekend shooting death of Damien Demond Bailey, 18. Boughton is accused of the murder that happened early on September 2nd outside a home on Fulgham Street in Nacogdoches.

According to the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel, Boughton told police that Bailey ran off after stealing a gun from inside his vehicle. He said that he chased Bailey and shot at him before leaving.

Boughton remains in jail, and his bond has been set at $1 million. With such a high bail, he will likely remain in the Nacogdoches County Jail until his trial.
